Abu Dhabi has introduced updates to its holiday home regulatory system, making the process more streamlined for property owners, operators and other sector partners. The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has enhanced the system to reduce approval times, simplify licensing procedures and provide users with a more flexible digital platform.

The upgraded system is designed to improve regulatory compliance while also supporting better revenue management for holiday homes. It strengthens coordination with government entities and gives operators improved tools to manage licensing and regulatory requirements more efficiently.

The latest improvements also focus on maintaining quality and safety standards across Abu Dhabi’s holiday home sector. Enhanced tools for monitoring, inspections and compliance tracking are intended to help operators maintain required standards while managing their properties.

Data protection is another important part of the upgraded system. DCT Abu Dhabi has stated that the platform follows the required data protection policies, helping ensure that sensitive information is securely managed and stored.

The latest developments build on earlier improvements introduced in 2024. At that time, DCT Abu Dhabi integrated its holiday home licensing platform with the Department of Municipalities and Transport and its self-inspection system. This integration helped reduce permit issuance times to less than six hours.

The updated regulatory system supports Abu Dhabi’s wider Tourism Strategy 2030 by helping expand accommodation options and creating a more efficient operating environment for holiday homeowners and operators. The changes also reflect the emirate’s broader focus on digital transformation and improving services across the tourism sector.
