Emirati Youth Invest Dh4.3 Billion in Sharjah Property, Strengthening the Real Estate Market

Sharjah’s real estate market is witnessing growing participation from young Emirati investors, highlighting a stronger culture of property investment among the UAE’s younger generation. According to figures released by the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, Emirati youth aged 18 to 35 invested a cumulative Dh4.3 billion in Sharjah’s property market as of August 2026.

The investments covered 7,052 properties traded by 5,314 young Emirati investors. The figures were released in connection with International Youth Day and underline the increasing role of young nationals in supporting Sharjah’s property sector and wider economic development.

The data also revealed a relatively balanced participation between male and female investors. Male investors accounted for 3,162 individuals, representing 59.5 per cent of the total, while female investors numbered 2,152, or 40.5 per cent. In terms of property transactions, males accounted for 4,325 properties compared with 2,727 properties traded by females.

Investment values also showed strong participation from both groups. Male investors represented approximately Dh2.8 billion, or 64.6 per cent of the total investment value, while female investors contributed around Dh1.5 billion, equivalent to 35.4 per cent.

The growing involvement of young Emiratis indicates increasing awareness of real estate as a long-term wealth-building opportunity. Property ownership can provide younger investors with sustainable capital assets while also allowing them to participate directly in Sharjah’s economic growth.

Saud Al Khayyal, chairman of the Youth Council at the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, said the figures demonstrate the growing investment culture among younger generations. He noted that the transactions represent more than property activity, reflecting greater awareness among young Emiratis about building assets and securing their financial future.

The strong investment activity among Emirati youth further supports Sharjah’s position as an attractive real estate market within the UAE. As young investors continue to enter the property sector, their participation could contribute to sustained demand and support the emirate’s broader real estate and economic development objectives.
